12/17/2013 PIPCO Pre-Market News

Acacia (ACTG) announced a settlement and license agreement with Flexera Software under its Computer Software Protection LLC subsidiary.


 Finjan (FNJN) filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Proofpoint in Northern California:



Single Touch Systems (SITO.OB) terminated the employment agreement with Executive Chairman.


Vringo (VRNG) announced the District Court in Mannheim issued a decision in the patent infringement lawsuit against ZTE under European Patent 1186119 ('119) against ZTE.  The order issues an injunction against ZTE from offering and distributing the infringing devices.  A declaratory ruling stating ZTE must pay back damages to Vringo for past infringement since June 2006.  The ruling is subject to Appeals and validity will be handled in a separate court.


The '119 patent validity was challenged by Qualcomm in 2005 and upheld by the EPO in 2008.  The specific documents can be found on the European Patent Register:
